Quarterbacks are hard to come by in the transfer portal. So, it didn’t take long for former Penn State football and Pitt QB Christian Veilleux to find a new home. The former Nittany Lion will now play for his third college in three years after making his commitment official to Georgia State on Wednesday afternoon.

Ex-Penn State football QB secures 2nd transfer destination

Christian Veilleux officially entered the transfer portal on April 16th. Which happened to be the same day that the transfer portal opened for the spring window. Veilleux decided to transfer from Pittsburgh after spending two seasons in Happy Valley.

During the 2023 season, Veilleux saw the most playing time in his career thus far. Appearing in seven games and making five starts. He finished the season completing 94 of 184 passing attempts for 1,179 yards. He threw 7 touchdowns and eight interceptions this past season as well.

Penn State fans will always remember his memorable and lone start with the Nittany Lions. The highlight from that game was when Veilleux connected with former Penn State wide receiver Malick Meiga for a 67-yard touchdown against Rutgers in 2021.

On Wednesday he made his commitment official to Georgia State. On Twitter/X he stated, “The next opportunity is the best opportunity! Let’s go to work!”
